Award-Winning KDOL-TV Digital Video Production Course
We invite you to enroll in the OUSD/KDOL-TV Digital Video Production Program, a full-year course beginning again in the fall semester. All OUSD students are welcome to take these classes, and there is no charge for the courses.
• Receive Academic Credit and Real-World Job Training The “Digital Video Production” class has been approved by OUSD for academic credit as part of the Linked Learning Program, satisfies the University of California “F” requirement in Fine Arts, and is articulated with Laney College for community college credit.
• Work with Professionals in the Media field Our students work with award-winning industry professionals to produce a monthly video magazine to be broadcast on KDOL-TV presenting a youth perspective on social/political issues and arts and cultural events that celebrate the diversity of their community.
• Paid Internships Students are given opportunities to receive paid internships, and professional experience producing videos for local non-profits and community partners. Build your resume, portfolio and launch a career in media.
• KDOL-TV: Training a New Generation of Multimedia Producers and Broadcast Journalists The KDOL/OUSD Video Production Program provides Oakland high school students with the opportunity to study media (video production, broadcast journalism, web and graphic design) with the goal of acquiring artistic and technical skills that give them a powerful voice to affect social change within their community.
There is no deadline for applications, but enrollment will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the class is filled, applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Applications are now being accepted.
